The way you design is in a constant state of change! However, ensuring an optimized user experience remains at the core of any design effort.

There are a gazillion web and mobile applications available and while some have been a raging success, others just tanked. The one common factor of all the successful applications was their exceptional user experience and interface. Your business will thrive only if your web and mobile applications respond quickly and efficiently.

UI UX

What is UI?

UI stands for the User Interface – This is the visual part of an application that takes hold of user’s attention when they interact with it for the first time. It emphasizes the graphical presentation of the web and mobile application, including layout, images, colors, theme, control, transitions, and animation. When a designer is working on UI design, the primary goal should always be “How to improve the presentation of an application to achieve a great user experience.”

What is UX?

User Experience or UX emphasizes the overall experience of a user with an application. While some people may get confused between these two terms, the basic difference is that the UI depicts How an application looks, whereas the UX describes How an application Works. The UX design process comprises wireframe, structure, planning, development, and testing.

UX designers work to improvise the usability of your web or mobile application to achieve a great user experience. Their prime focus is on the user’s perception, preferences, and emotions.

UI and UX have always been the most important part of web and mobile application development. We will share with you some of the revolutionary design trends that will become popular in the year 2020!

  1. Voice User Interface

Voice search is among the most adopted technology in the last couple of years.

Today most technology businesses are improvising on their UI/UX design, from GUI (Graphical User Interface) to VUI (Voice User Interface). Your user will always prefer an effortless way to access the services and Voice User Interface is the best option for them. It is expected that about 50% of search engine queries will be performed via Voice search by 2020.

  1. Intelligent User Interface

IUI (Intelligence User Interface) comes from the union of User Experience (UX) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It enhances flexibility, usability, and the flexibility of interaction. IUI will be among the imperative contributors to UI/UX design in the year 2020.

IUI is facilitated by artificial intelligence and machine learning. AI helps recognize individual user patterns and preferences and make related changes to the UI. These subtle changes eventually proliferate, thereby providing a personalized interface to the end user.

IUI enriches the communication between users and the application interface. It helps accelerate the integration of technology with various feature-heavy applications.

Many Ecommerce and Social media companies are making efforts to implement AI and machine learning algorithms in their applications’ interface in an attempt to understand their customers.

Here are some examples of AI-enabled interfaces – Google Assistance, Amazon Alexa, Nest Thermostat, IBM Watson, Facebook’s automatic tagging system, and Spotify.

  1. Augmented Reality User Interface

Today, the interface of the applications is going beyond on-screen. The User Interface and the User Experience designers are working on the physical interface that emphasizes real-world interactions.

Augmented Reality is going to be the new phase of UI/UX design in the year 2020! AR provides amazing interaction with the existing environment by creating superimposition,  haptic vision, and 3D view at the digital interface. Many e-commerce companies are opting for an AR-based interface to enable a 3D experience “Going Phygital”, for their products before users can make a buying decision.

  1. VR User Interface

Virtual Reality will be a game-changer for UI and UX designs. It provides a simulated experience of a real or completely different world. With Virtual Reality, the user can experience multi-projected visual environments which include realistic sounds, images, and other artificial sensations.

Virtual Reality is slightly different from Augmented Reality! AR adds a digital object to live vision by using smartphones and tablets. Pokemon Go and Snapchat lenses are examples of AR.  On the other hand, VR implies an artificial environment that completely differs from the real world using device like Google Glass, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. Today, the VR User-Interface is leveraged in the Space Training programs; Education, Health care, Aviation, and Defense Industries.

  1. Artificial Intelligence Modelling Language User Interface

The AIML is an open-source XML markup language developed by Richard Wallace. It is built to design UX for AI-based applications. It is also a new trend to build an efficient UI/UX interface to provide a great user experience.

With AIML, the designers and developers build AI-based interfaces called Chatbots that perform audio or text conversations with the users.

Here some another example of an AIML-based interface – Verbot and Superbot
