About the client

TriMark is the USA’s largest restaurant supply company and provider of foodservice supplies, restaurant equipment, restaurant supplies, and design services. SynergyTop had previously worked for TriMark and a few of their other business divisions like TriMark Hockenbergs, R.W. Smith, etc.

Continuing our association with the brand, we were selected as the preferred partners for developing a bespoke solution for Premium Collections, a catalog portal for showcasing TriMark’s premium products.

Key Asks

Premier Collections had the following key asks from our technical team:

• A simple, stable, yet scalable solution that can seamlessly display their large number of products.
• Ensure search functionality on the platform which can help end-users quickly and effortlessly find the products they are looking for.
• Adding features like the PDF functionality and an option for requesting quotes.

Business Needs Synopsis

Based on our long association with TriMark and our deep understanding of Premier Collections’ needs, we outlined their core business needs as follows:

• An eCommerce and product cataloging platform that is in line with TriMark’s overall brand image.
• Carrying the restaurant supplies provider’s offline legacy into the digital world.
• Offering a simple and efficient experience to end-users visiting the website.

SynergyTop’s Solution

Based on our discussions with the client and our understanding of their requirements, we delivered the following business solutions by leveraging OSCommerce as the key technology:

• Made use of the MySQL database to segregate categories, sub-categories, products and options.
• Deployed extended search functionality for the catalog with the keyword replacement feature that lets users quickly search for what they need. As a part of the intelligent search functionality, the following custom solutions were extended:
  • Faceted search was implemented.
  • When a user searches for one product, related or replacement items are also shown in search to offer multiple options.
  • Typo-free search was implemented; even if the user enters incorrect spellings, autocorrect ensures the right items are displayed.
  • If there are no products for the user’s current search query, the system captures those keywords to help add those in-demand categories or reassign the tags to items to make the search better.
• To capture the screenshot of the entire product page and display it in an aesthetic manner, the PDF feature was used.
• To ensure conversions for Premier Collections, the products were showcased with a Request a Quote feature so that visitors can shop for what they need right then and there.
