Hockenbergs is a US-based dealer of food service equipment and supplies created to design, install and support food-service operations. The company has served as a trusted partner for successful food service operations – procuring products, installing equipment, designing kitchen spaces, and supporting efforts in efficiency, sustainability, and waste reduction in the Midwest region for the past 100 years.
Acquired by TriMark in 2017, Hockenbergs now operates as the 14th division of TriMark.
Key Challenges:
When the senior management at Hockenbergs first contacted us at SynergyTop, they were struggling with the following core issues –
- The existing E-commerce website of the company had an old and primitive design resulting in low conversions and an abysmal customer experience.
- The website’s search functionality was limited and in most cases, the search queries did not fetch satisfactory results.
- The Hockenbergs website had a huge collection of 40,000+ restaurant supplies and commercial kitchen equipment but the products were not properly categorized and cataloged on the website. This leads to poor product hierarchy and reduces the user experience on the website.

- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integration with the digital sales platform was essential to ease out the order process for both end-users and Hockenbergs.

- We redesigned the Hockenbergs E-commerce website and web app and integrated it with SAP ERP for order processing. The new E-commerce is contemporary and designed with an emphasis on enhanced user experience.
- Our team of experts also categorized and cataloged the 40,000+ products available for sale on the Hockenbergs website in the right hierarchy. An advanced search functionality option was also added to the website.
- Other customer-centric features that were added to the website include a PDF option for order invoices, the history of fulfilled orders, shipping tracking status, Personal Order Guides for every customer, and an option for customers to create Chain Accounts with multi-user functionality.
