SynergyTop Designed and Developed a WordPress-Powered eCommerce Store For Angel Shave Club

A company made for women, by women, Angel Shave Club provides women with luxurious and reliable shaving supplies on a subscription basis. The razors are available in pastel, female-friendly colors, and the subscription boxes come with 8 to 16 blades, which are shipped every 2 to 4 months based on each member’s unique needs.

While there’s the Dollar Shave Club and many other market players who aim to fulfill men’s shaving needs easily, there’s hardly a brand that keeps women as their key priority and offers them a smooth shaving experience without the pink tax. Angel Shave Club is an attempt to change that and introduce women to the smart way of shaving.

Client’s Goals

The Challenge

The key challenge that our client was facing was the need to offer a truly custom experience for women and offer them a smart way to shave. For that, their website required eCommerce integration and a subscription-based system. The subscription system had to be designed and implemented in a manner such that each member can select what (razor/blade) they need, how many (8 to 16 razors), and how frequently (shipped 2 or 4 months). Further, the online experience on the website had to be simple, engaging, informative, and intuitive, all at once.

The Solution

To help our client meet their business goals and overcome the existing challenges, SynergyTop delivered the following solutions:

• The client had the website’s design layout in PSD format, which our team converted to HTML. Based on refinements done in the HTML mock-ups, our team created a live website for the client.
• Given that the client needed safe, secure, scalable, and stable eCommerce functionality, WooCommerce integration was done and a subscription model was set up.
• Based on the website’s core theme and design strategy, the WooCommerce product and subscription pages were also customized to match the look and feel.
• To ensure safe financial transactions, the Stripe Payment Gateway was integrated with the eCommerce website.
• The Ship Station plugin was used to ensure swift product deliveries.

The Results

The shave club had 2000 subscribing members in the first 4 months itself. With SynergyTop’s end-to-end eCommerce website development services, our client was successful in building a reliable digital presence for their brand.

 

Note: Officially launched in 2016, Angel Shave Club went on to become a thriving business and featured in a Shark Tank episode. It also gathered $200,000 funding from Quake Capital before finally shutting down in 2019 due to a COVID-induced cash crunch.
